so finally i watched the new Sex and the City the movie and what can i say? I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! i cried, i laughed, i screamed, i clapped! so many emotions enveloped me from the minute the movie started until the credits started rolling up. 

don’t worry i wont put any spoilers but let me just tell you that you are in for a great time. try to watch it with your girlfriends and just have that “girls night out”.

hats off to SJP and Michael King because they really made this movie worth waiting for.

This is a must see Movie this year! to be honest, i never knew that the book existed before the movie until a friend of mine advised me to watch it. and i did and i LOVED it! i cried of course but in all sense of it, i was deeply moved by the whole story, the characters, everything..

A confession, i watched the movie first before reading the book! why? because i don’t want to be disappointed in case the movie don’t do justice. I am not saying the all novel turned movie is crap… they are fantastic.. but books always carry more into it.

Anyway, I am now reading the book and I am on the first chapter and I think Khaled Hosseini is brilliant storyteller and i am looking forward to more touching stories from him! He’s story is moving, heart warming and just brilliantly written. every emotion is created by every word!

By the way, if you watch the movie, you will fall inlove with “Hassan”, he’s just the cutest boy ever (Mashallah!) Look at him!

From our family to your families.. Merry Christmas!

so the great man 23 touched down Sydney not over a week ago. as i am on the other side of the country, TV is my saving grace to have a glimpse of the great becks.

i can say that i am a big fan of his wife.. and it wasn’t for his wife, i wouldn’t know him.. hehehehe yeah, spice girls are my guilty pleasure..

anyway, so tonight the exhibition game between Sydney FC and LA Galaxy is just great. Beckham did what he’s expected to do, score a goal through a freen kick!! very bend-it-like-beckham!

Galaxy lost but who cares? the game was all bout the great 23 anyway!

it was great!! hopefully the next time he comes back to play, i can come and see it!

what’s the highlight of the game? when he took off his shirt at the end.. one word.. yummy!

well, most of you don’t know but when it comes to surprises, the last person you should expect organising it is Momo.
why? well, just say that he’s good but not that great. (i still love him so much though)

anyway, so the surprise. it came out to be a really surprise. i had no clue at all… but the build up of anger was something else.

rule of the thumb.. when planning a surprise party, the celebrant shouldn’t know or get a hint of anything.. it’s always good to let the celebrant think that nothing is in-store, no plan, no thing special, no surprises..

and learning from the experts (papa nic & feli), momo did all that.. i didn’t suspect anything! all i know is that he SHOULD take me to dinner. i expected him to do that.. i can’t see him organising a  surprise party.. really can’t…

his plan was to only invite close friends.. and he did..

mid day my birthday, momo sms me and asked me what i want for my birthday.. thinking that it’s already my birthday.. i got upset because he doesn’t have a plan at all.. all my hopes that he will take me to dinner at least is gone, thrown out the window..

in fact here’s the conversation:

(setting, chikee is at work waiting for home time and momo is home doing some mischief)

momo: what do you want to do tonight my love?

chikee: aren’t you suppose to plan that weeks ago? like at least take me to dinner, you know.

momo: ok, i’ll take you to sizzlers!

chikee: (already upset for the fact that nothing is planned) well, i can go to sizzler on my own at any day!

momo: how about harry potter?!

chikee: you know that i don’t follow harry potter! (already angry.. not upset but angry)

momo: then i give up, i don’t know what to do…

chikee: well, let’s just stay home and i will cook dinner (*now note this line, this is a mind game… i am waiting for him to say “no, it’s your birthday, we should go somewhere”)

momo: OK, i’ll come home after uni

chikee: and what time will that be?

momo: when you’re done cooking..

(i tell you my nerves are about to pop! i was that upset.. birthdays are meant to be special. and i have a dress to wear, new shoes.. the works! and he just wants to eat at home.. and i cook?)

chikee: whatever! you go with your brothers to KFC and leave me alone!
momo: i love my baby… hehehehehe

(chikee didn’t reply)

i then sms all my close friends. i message some of them, inviting them on the last minute for my birthday dinner… all of them said they were busy and it was so last minute.. now because i was sooo upset, i didn’t care taht all of them have the same excuse.. i trully bought each of that.. so i sms them back and told them that i will re-schedule when everyone can attend)
so i went home.. take note, no one picked me up! no one! and when i got home, no one is home!

i cried and went to bed..
i somehow fell asleep crying and hating my birthday.. time is only 630pm

7pm.. phone call.. it was momo..
he said to get ready he’s taking me to dinner..

what did i say?
“i don’t like sizzlers and i don’t like harry potter, let me sleep”

then he chuckled! mind you, he chuckled!!

all i can say was “arrggghhhh!”

so after a long exchange of please get dress and me saying no, leave me alone..

i then got ready. wore my new dress, new shoes. did my make up… after all it’s my birthday and i don’t want to completely ruin it..

he took me to this eat all you can fine dining…
when we got there, i saw a friend and i wonder what’s he doing here.. then momo said, it’s just someone who looks like him..
and again, i bought that.. i was that upset and hungry that i didn’t care at all…

anyway, the waiter is bit slow.. slow in picking up “codes” and signals… so the whole plan of hiding my friends didnt work out as expected.. but when i saw them i was on the verge of hitting momo.. like is this a surprise?!

it was indeed a surprise..
i loved it.. and i thank everyone for being there.
it was a job well done for momo…

at the end of the day, i couldn’t thank momo enough..
although i told him don’t make me upset that much again.. not on my birthday at least..

it was a great night

i am 27… and i am happy

Babang luksa is known as the first year death anniversary. In our culture, family should wear black for 1 year after a family member passed away. Then on the first year death anniversary, a ceremony is held to change clothing colour from black to colours.

For our family, my mum didn’t want us to wear black as it was too depressing. So with that, we played between the colours of white and black. If you noticed, my blog is in black and with my mum’s photo as the banner. that was my aim and my goal is to keep it for a year as part of our 1 year mourning.

so on that day, we started on white, had the prayer and put on a veil.. then changed into bright coloured clothing.

then the praying started… seriously!

i got emotional and i had to lean on my brother’s shoulder…

then the veil.. we have to wear them.. these are improvised ones.. we didn’t bring any proper veil.. the elders said that anything white will do.. and so we used the table napkin..

and finally, changing the colours.. marks the end of mourning…

it was a great night… i told myself that i won’t cry but when the elders sang the lullaby my mum used to sing to me…. well, i just weep and weep and weep…

presenting my highschool friends… old(er) and wise(r) and still friends.

It’s fun when i caught up with my friends. we laughed and laughed. we reminisce the old days, the goofy days so to speak. no one has change, i mean we are still the same fun loving, b!itching friends that we were. i think we are just more mature, some are married and with kids others are committed to their partners.

it’s funny how some things turned out differently that what we expected.. at least what we dreamed of when we were in highschool. but all together that day was fun filled.

it started with a birthday party. it was Carelle’s birthday, a dear child. it was fun and filling…

then we head to our favourite coffee house.. Starbucks! i told the girls that we don’t have starbucks in Perth, that’s why they took me there. of course i have to have my signature starbucks’ pose!

and then the girls…

it was a great night, great company, great food and great coffee… these moments are so rare it’s priceless!

OK, i got the chance to watch PINK live in concert.. let’s just call it sudden twist of fate. Thanks to Foz and Tasha for giving us the chance!!

The tickets were sold out the 2nd day they went on sale so just imagine my luck.. nothing..

anyway, it was one of the best live performances i’ve ever watched! and she even made me wish i can do the things she did!! i was star struck all evening with my mouth open the whole time. I was just so amazed how she can do all these and sing.. oh… that was a priceless experience. (well sort of.. hehehehe)

It was a great evening and we got great seats!! Too bad cameras are not allowed at all

But i bought some T-shirt and beanie :) i know not much.. arrrghhh.. i wanted to have a picture there but the bouncers are everywhere and one flash they will come get you.. i mean they will come get you, ask you to leave your seat then leave the stadium..

Anyway, it was a great performance. she is indeed a great artist!! Thanks Foz and Tasha.. hope you’re enjoying your trip.
