technologies do affect manners..

i remember writing something about it when i was in college and it didn’t really occur to me until today that technologies really do affect manners..

let’s just stick to one example.

say you agreed to meet up with someone or do something together..

you’ve arrange the time and the place and of course both agreed of the purpose of the meeting.

so everything is planned. you changed your entire day’s schedule for that.. then half an hour before the intended meeting time… you get a phone call.. saying  “sorry can’t come something came up”

it’s understandable the first time.. things happen.. shit happens.. but if every single time you say yes and then you call up to cancel with pretty much the same reason.. then something’s wrong..

before the rate of cancellation is lower because there are no other ways to cancel.. you have to be at the meeting place at the right time..

you can cancel after 5 mins but today, you got sms, you got mobile.. easier to cancel whenever..

but please remember that it is still consider rude!

rude especially if it’s not the first you’ve done it and rude because you said YES in the first place so that means you’ve committed to the meeting.

oh well, i guess i am bitching.. it’s just sad with all of these changes.. 

i guess i should be used to  this by now.. 

just hate getting disappointed… especially if there are 3rd parties involved. you’re the middle man.. oh well… hopefully next time when you say yes you stay to that..

maybe they just don’t like me.. hehehehehehe

oh well..

just think if someone does this to you.
