our christmas
..christmas songs are always on, from classics to original filipino music. we have our favourite and mum and i always cry… “i’ll be home for christmas”. it was weird because we are always home. it was just lately when i went to australia we trully felt the meaning of the song. she was home last christmas.. home with me…
..we have our christmas tree by the door or by the window. every year it varies on height. as we grew older and a lot of us grew taller we didn’t have enough space for a bigger tree. there was a year that it wasn’t even a tree it was like a wreath and it was hanged up the ceiling
we have gifts and we have lots and lots of them. my mum knows how to throw a big surprise and she’ll save all her money just to get what you want… and i mean all you want.. just for christmas.
..we’ll be staying a bit late especially a week before christmas. we’ll be dancing or singing our hearts out.
..we’ll be buying gifts for every for whatever worth. our motto was “it’s the thought that counts
..on christmas eve, feast! we have food galore. mum will be cooking whole day, wrapping gifts
..exactly 12midnight, we’ll hug each other, we’ll kiss each other and my mum would usually cry. we’ll cry and cry and laugh and hug. we’ll say i love you, we’ll say merry christmas. mum will kiss me with lips inwards.. yeah, she kisses like an old woman with no teeth. she’ll make the funniest sound and squeeze you until you say stop
mum will smile the whole night… so many times that i caught her just watching my dad, my brother, my cousins and she’s smiling like she’s very at peace and happy and content.
merry christmas to you mum!
