Latest splurge: Shiseido Mascara Base

•February 13, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So I’ve established that publishing a blog post works in Word 2007, so here’s another one, just to kill some thinking time at work.

Anyway, back to my latest splurge, I was just wandering around the cosmetics section trying to find something to buy. I wasn’t desperate to buy something but I was looking for something I don’t know.

I went to MAC counter but didn’t find anything I like then Clinique and still nothing. Then I saw Shiseido counter and no one is hogging the display so I went it and found the mascara base. Of course I the MA just came out of nowhere asking me if I want to try it on, well I said no… I already have makeup on that’s why I said no.

Anyway, she started telling me good things about it… I pretend to listen.. I am not being rude but I wanted this base since I don’t know when and I’ve done my research and watched countless reviews so I know what it does. I wasn’t quite sure whether to buy it or no.

Anyway, she was really lovely and sweet… so I asked the price… $43AUD.. not bad.. and so I said “I’ll get it” and that made my day.

Shiseido Mascara Base

I don’t need it but I want it. I weren’t blessed with nice thick lashes and I often opt for falsies when I want my eyes to pop or for extra sophistication and this product promises a “false eyelashes” effect. I was convinced.

Will let you know how I go about it after a week or two. But so far I am excited.

Blogging made easy through Word 2007

So we’re a little bit behind, we just recently upgraded to Office 2007 and what a product! Well, I can’t say much for other people where I work, I don’t think technology works for them as it works for me.

And that’s the reason for this blog, I am testing how easy it is to publish this post to my blog and maybe propose something at work…

If you’re reading this and you’re clueless what am I talking about, just ignore. I am just testing.

Highlight of my summer – NARS Albatross

•January 2, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Finally!! I’ve got my full size NARS Albatross!! So as you may know it’s summer here in Australia and one of the key makeup trend is “highlighters”  and i’ve been collecting quite a few of them and this baby is the latest addition.

I do have favourites such as my Cargo Sunsetbeach blush and Clinique shimmer tones quads. Both are my HG for summer until i met NARS’ Albatross which is so versatile. It’s like MAC’s Vanilla pigment only in pressed form and it’s very great for highlighting key features of your face (ie, cheekbones).

It’s finely milled which doesn’t accentuate your pores (winner!). Don’t get me wrong, I still adore my MAC MSFs but summer and humidity makes my pores bigger than what it is during winter and MSFs just make them more “recognisable”.

I give this product 2-thumbs up! :)

For my aussie girls, you can get this on Mecca Cosmetica

HAHA.

seriously, i am wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous 2009 !

Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.. done!

•December 27, 2008 • Leave a Comment

So i’ve done it! read all the books on the Twilight saga! It was truly a world breaking time for me and let me tell you that it’s all worth it!

I mean i almost forgot about the outside world! i was always in my room reading! i can’t put it down and i can’t stop! i’ve had little sleeps or should i say naps until i wake up and reach for the book but it’s all worth it.. it was not an ideal “holiday” but it was just what i needed! a break from the outside world :)

so my thoughts on the last 2 books! (Spoiler Alert!)

ECLIPSE – so i was over the moon when i finished New Moon… all that Edward coming back you know! i was soo happy i remember cooking something special! LOL However, when i started reading Eclipse I so wanted to kill Bella! like seriously if i can only hit her and shake her so hard so she’ll understand what’s she’s doing to Edward and Jacob i will! i think at one point i even threw the book out of frustration.. but of course my heart is with Edward Cullen that i had to pick it p again and read more…

At the end of Eclipse, i was convinced that Edward is going to be happy and that made me happy! Although i had all of this theories you know! Especially on the sexual tension.. HAHA

BREAKING DAWN

Now, i had some trouble reading this one.. only because i felt that i already got my ending.. you know Bella and Edward getting married! then getting pregnant was only a plus..

A couple of things though.. Renesmee? seriously what’s with the name… HAHA I prefer Nessie you know or Carlie! why not just Carlie! HAHA

Breaking dawn is just the closure I needed especially with regards to Jacob thing! i finally understood… :)

there is this one line in the book that made me laugh so hard… it was when Jacob was suppose to take Nessie away just in case the Volturi starts to kill them… Edward said something to Jacob thanking him and he mentioned “…my friend, my SON…” HAHA

I am eternally Team Edward :)

i hope that she finishes the Midnight Sun :)

New Moon (done!)

So another world breaking time… i finished this book in 17hrs.. phew!

what are my thoughts, you may ask..

1. i am definitely on Team Edward (all for love baby)

2. i dont like Jacob simply because of his immaturity and clinginess

As for the whole book, i didn’t enjoy the middle part because it was all about Jacob. No offense to those Team Jacob but those chapters about him and Bella are just dragging!

I cried when Edward and Bella broke up. If i could remember exactly, i closed my book and looked for someone to hug me..

Then the Jacob went on and on and i was starting to lose hope that Edward is ever coming back.

You see I was good at not checking spoilers for myself on internet or friends who read it so i didn’t have any clue whether edward is coming back or what..

When he did i was all up and happy and joyous! my dearly beloved was even surprised at my sudden “glow”. i couldn’t stop smiling!

I highlighted lines said by Edward because it was just something you’d wish your love will tell you.. (hint hint) HAHAHA

I jumped when Edward proposed! i had to read the line “Marry me first” like 10x and i was like YES!!! but then again, i am not Bella.. :P

So, i can’t wait for Eclipse!

These books are taking over me. My house chores miss me! hahahaha

Obsession = Edward Cullen + Bella Swan

Twilight Saga

So my obsession continues! Gosh, i finished the  first book ( Twilight)  in my world breaking record of 2.5 days! I can’t even believe myself!

Seriously i couldn’t put it down! I read before i slept then i’ll dream about it and i wake in the middle of the night and read it again. Then time for work i take it with me and read it while on the train then on lunch break then on my way home and the cycle continues.

i am now on the second book New Moon and i am hooked!

I betcha if my English teacher back in high school remembers me and my so called “lack of enthusiasm over reading” then she’ll be surprised!

when i finished the book last saturday i was like i’ve got to have the second book now (you can compare it to a strong thirst of blood, if i was a vampire :P )..  so today i went and got all 3 remaining books with fear that it will be sold out! phew!

my dearly beloved was impressed at my lack of interest towards cosmetics counter (which i always check if i am in town shopping).. i surprise myself too but what can i do? Stephenie Meyer is one great writer… and now that i’ve seen the movie and built this insane crush toward “Edward Cullen” i am enjoying the books much better!

i often wonder if this enthusiasm is a sign of immaturity? i am 28 going 29 but i get these butterflies every time i read about Edward… but after some thoughts, what’s the harm of being immature toward this kind of things anyway? it’s nice to get to live that 17ish-crush-feeling again…  hopefully this infatuation will keep the wrinkles at bay HAHA

Latest Obsession = Twilight

So my latest obsession!

i am soooo inlove with this book and quite sad that i am late with all the hype.. anyhow it’s better late than never :)

i saw the movie and i LOVED it and will be watching it again this weekend! LOL

i still love the book better although i haven’t finished it yet i can’t wait to get my hands on the 2nd book.

and Edward Cullen? don’t you just want to be a vampire too just for him?

PS. i think Robert Pattison did a great job sweeping off the ladies’ feet :)

memory by smelling?

•December 11, 2008 • Leave a Comment

so have you seen Someone Like you (2001). Movie by Ashley Judd and Greg Kinnear. There is one scene there where Ashley went to plastic surgeon to have her smelling memory be removed because everytime she smells a certain scent she remembers him (Greg).

Anyway, so memory by smelling… i was getting coffee across my office and one particular deli smelled of fried honey ham – well something like that. I had to stop and close my eyes.
It was not a good idea especially when other people are walking behind you but i just had to do it.

i don’t miss ham/bacon if that’s what you’re thinking. i am missing my mum! you may ask why?

she used to buy christmas ham like a month before christmas and freeze it. every morning she will slice some and fry it for breakky. that smell will wake me up and put a smile on my face because 1. i am hungry, 2. it’s so sweet that even if i am already 21 (at that time) she still cooks breakky for me. she’ll be proud after cooking because she actually liked the smell of it. for her it trully means christmas is in the air (literally).. LOL

so there i miss my mum because of that smell (just want to be clear on that)..

it’s now 2 years since we lost her and i miss her more when i see mum-daughter chrissie shopping and they fight over things that daughter wants to get but mum doesn’t want to pay.
that’s like our typical shopping when i was growing up..

then when i started earning my own money it was reverse role. she’ll want things that i don’t want to pay… LOL

I miss that!
I miss her!
